Good Faith Estimate (No Surprises Act)
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining the expected cost of mental health services.
Under federal law, healthcare providers are required to give clients who are not using insurance (or who are self-paying) an estimate of expected charges for services.
What This Means for You
You may request a Good Faith Estimate before starting services or at any time
The estimate will include expected costs for scheduled services
Actual charges may vary based on your needs, frequency of sessions, or changes to your treatment plan
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you may have the right to dispute the charges.
